This hand painted kitchen makeover was a great turn around. The kitchen doors had been manufactured with a wraparound paint effect and over the years the wrap had started to bubble and didn’t look that good.
Mr & Mrs Magee thought they were going to have to have a new kitchen, but then John Myers a cabinet maker from Burley in Wharfdale came to the rescue. He got a hair dryer and blew hot air over the kitchen door and slowly but surely it came off in one piece, leaving a perfect MDF door underneath.
Then John got in touch with me to see if we could bring the kitchen back to life with a hand painted finish to the kitchen units.
With Mr & Mrs Magee away for a few days the Expressions Team got to work.

“We didn’t want to have a new kitchen as the one we have is exactly as we want it, but the doors and other fronts on the units were looking very shabby after seventeen years of life in a busy kitchen. Initially we thought that we’d have to completely replace the doors, but instead we had them stripped back to the MDF.
